Corporal Ulric Hargan is a soldier in the Imperial Army. He is a knowledgeable and highly cunning serviceman, ready to serve the Galactic Empire when called upon to do so. He is an enigmatic man with a mysterious past, looking forward to a bright future.

Biography

Early life

Ulric Hargan was born on Corellia, circa Year -12. His parents were scientists that worked for the Galactic Empire, but the exact nature of their work is still unclear and classified to this day. Ulric had a secluded life while growing up, remaining at home, and was home-schooled by his strict father. The only time he left his family home was when he accompanied his parents to their laboratory. Ulric still doesn't remember much about the lab where his parents worked, as he would have self-described "black-outs" while he was there, after which he would wake up when it was time to leave.

Rumors began to circulate about this, with many people speculating that the Hargans were performing secret experiments on their only child. Many believed this was why Ulric seemed to be so cold, and why he would seem to follow orders without question. There was an official investigation to find if the rumours were true, but in the end, nothing out of the ordinary had been discovered.

Ulric continued his education until he turned 10, when he developed a sudden interest in combat, both hand-to-hand and while armed. He picked up on this almost immediately, demonstrating a passion for multiple combat disciplines. His father decided to put him to the test, asking the local authorities to set up a combat simulation in which his son would participate. They agreed, thinking that a mere 10 year old boy wouldn't be able to compete. However, they soon found out how wrong they really were as soon as the simulation had begun. After only 30 minutes, the simulation had ended; Ulric's opponents were defeated, and the boy was standing next to the weapon station, his father watching everything from an observation tower.

When Ulric was 12, a Rebel attack was carried out against his parents' laboratory, detonating explosives that started a raging inferno. Hargan and his parents were still inside during this incident, although they were separated at the start of the attack. The Hargans remained trapped inside until the authorities had at last succeeded in putting out the fire several hours later, initially doubting there would be any survivors. In searching for the cause of the destruction, they discovered the charred remains of Ulric's parents. Knowing that the whole family had been present during the onset of the explosion, the authorities expected to find him as well, somewhere amidst the rubble. They eventually found his seemingly-lifeless body some time later, but upon further examination, the medics soon realized that he was somehow still alive, albeit in a precarious state.

The boy was rushed to the nearest medical facility, and when he had regained consciousness, Ulric was unable to recall any distinct long-term memories, nor could he remember what had caused the explosion at the lab. He could only remember vague memories, which he wasn't sure how to arrange. Ulric would regularly have flashes of people in a lab, or what he assumed to be a lab, and these flashbacks would cause him severe headaches. After spending a month recuperating at the medical facility, he decided that he had had enough of his doctors' tests, and that he could handle things on his own. While at the facility, he learned that it was Rebels who had been responsible for the attack which lead to the deaths of those he assumed from his memories to be his parents, and for his amnesia. With a new purpose and hatred for Rebels everywhere, Ulric, ignorant of his future, set off on his own to find the people responsible, and do everything he could to make them pay...

Hargan's Return

Ulric disappeared for 13 years, his whereabouts during this time is unknown, though many believe that he might have lived in the wilderness practising and improving his skills.

When he was 25, Hargan at last returned to the city where he was born, going unrecognized by many, as he was now an adult. He roamed the streets, keeping to himself, often visiting the site of the destroyed research facility from his memories. When the burden of the event became too much to bear, Ulric would often go to a local cantina to drink away the raging emotions. It was here that he encountered an Imperial Recruiting Officer who seemed to know him from a previous encounter. The Imperial approached the young man with an offer to lead a better life, a chance to rise above sitting at a bar, drinking himself to death while impotently recalling the deaths of his parents. The alternative: to join the Galactic Empire, and take the fight to the Rebels themselves, to give his anger purpose and a target. Seeing the opportunity, Ulric accepted the Recruiter's offer and decided to join the Galactic Empire.

The First Hunt

Upon completing the Academy, Private Hargan was assigned to his Brigade. He was warmly received and welcomed into his unit from the start, and he was the butt of a few pranks made in good spirits. During his off-duty hours Ulric was able to meet and greet pretty much everyone everyone within his new outfit.

Before Hargan knew it, he and his Brigade were assigned a tasking: they were deployed in order to protect civilians from roaming packs of predators. To his surprise, Ulric found that he took great pleasure in hunting the creatures. The Brigade was segmented to search for and eliminate the creatures, and whatever else posed a threat to the local civilian populace. Ulric himself dedicated much time and effort to make sure that the hostile fauna were spotted right away and quickly dispatched. With the help of his fellow Legionaries, Ulric began to think of his tasking not as a mission, but as a sporting diversion.

Personality

Due to his upbringing, Ulric's personality overall is the by-product of a lifeime spent in seclusion, and he can often be found keeping to himself when he's in the company of others. He is dedicated and loyal to anyone that he serves or works with, and is willing to take orders without hesitation or regret. When he's combating enemies of the Empire, assisting with animal control, Ulric will carry out his orders without any outward display of emotion or delay.
