The five good article criteria

A good article is:

  1. Well-written:
    1. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct; and;
    2. it complies with the best practise for use of for lead sections, layout, images, and other guidelines.
  2. Verifiable:
    1. When possible, it draws on references such as GNS or ING posts, other Archives material, WayBackWhen content, etc, and;
    2. References used should be included at the bottom of the page so others can follow up on them directly should they wish, and the reference should be cited inline
  3. Broad in its coverage:
    1. It addresses the main aspects of the topic, and;
    2. It remains focussed on the topic without going into unrelated detail which adds no value.
  4. Neutral: although an Imperial source, the Archives should present a consistent and reliable accounting of the topics it covers. It may be putting forward an Imperial viewpoint, but this should be made clear. The Archives should not put forward Rebel- or anti-Imperial views, as these will be articulated elsewhere.
  5. Illustrated: whereever possible articles should include images illustratin their topic, and/or links to media doing the same
