Pre-enlistment

Zhaff began his life on the supple and crime ridden streets of Corellia. The only son of middle class family Orikan, he lived a comfortable life. In school, he maintained decent grades. Nothing to spectacular, but he rarely had to cram for tests and never had to bring home bad grades.

Growing up, Zhaff was exposed to propaganda from both sides of the inter-galactic struggle. Posters were strewn around his home town claiming of evils committed by the Galactic Empire, but they were far outnumbered by the posters speaking of the good works, put up by the now defunct Imperial Ministry of Propaganda. However, in raising he was taught by his parents that the rebels had a well and just cause; That they had somehow been wronged by the Empire in the past.

When Zhaff turned 16, it was mere hours into his birthday when he was in the Imperial Department of Spacial Vehicles office getting his provisional pilots license. He had already worked his tail off getting together enough credits for a used ship, and was ready and rearing to fly it. He had managed to take it out a few times before, but that was without the knowledge of his parents. They may not have supported the honorable Empire's mission, but they made sure to abide by its rules.

After graduation, Zhaff spent a few months putting a hyperdrive on his ship so he could see the Galaxy. One thing stopped him from meeting his goal: money. He had lost his job to a rebel terrorist attack, and hadn't been able to find additional work. He decided that his best option was to begin travel, and enlist in the military. He launched into hyperspace, and began attempting to contact the New Republic's recruitment office, to no avail. He sent in his application, and never heard back.

Frustrated at this, he got into a comlink with the Imperial Centre for Recruitment, and began talking to a recruiter there. He was in the mindset of 'forget them. If they don't want me, the polar opposite will get me.'

While in talks with the ICR, an incoming urgent message from home came through. His parents had been killed, and it wasn't clear who had done it. Running low on fuel, he couldn't turn around to attend to funerals, but instead diverted his course to the Imperial Basic Training Academy, where he soon enlisted.

Junior Enlisted Time

Zhaff quickly enlisted in the Galactic Empire, and entered the Academy a newly made orphan at the age of 21. He breezed through the academy, but like his previous schooling didn't excel, just did okay. The epitome of 'slightly above average'.

On Y11 D246 Zhaff Orikan graduated from the Academy, and was assigned to the Fourth Imperial Fleet under then Captain Arya Downing who served as Fleet Commanding officer, with Lieutenant Commander Galdarzz Aalon working as Fleet Executive Officer. Much of this time he was under the supervision of then Chief Flight Sergeant Seren Ngo, who took him under her wing in training.

From then, he rose through the ranks rather quickly, even receiving one double promotion.

Senior Enlisted Time

After a short Leave of Absence, Zhaff found himself in a new fleet with a batch of fresh out of the Academy Junior Enlisted members. He quickly took them under his wing, much as the Senior Enlisted in his first fleet did to him.

In one short month he saw each one of them promoted.

Commissioned Officer Time

As a recently commissioned officer, Orikan's first task was assisting across branches an Army Command Sergeant with an issue involving his pay. It was quickly dealt with, being a mistake in the E-6's accounting, not in the Empire.

As a gift to himself for receiving his commission as Ensign, Zhaff Orikan purchased for himself on Day 245 of Year 12 a Personal Luxury Yacht 3000 which he named, temporarily, Orikans Other Revenge. This small, but quality ship has assisted him greatly not only in his duties, but expanding his personal accommodations. At this time he has not quite gotten himself accustomed to the slightly more luxurious life that came with his commission, but this purchase was done to allow him to live in a bit more style when not marching around the bridge of some unnamed Star Destroyer. This ship has since been appropriately renamed The Commission.

In addition to Orikans Other Revenge came a new-found dedication to security practices and proficiency. He can often be found debating with fellow Imperials the finer points of information security, the security classification system, as well as solitary sitting on the bridge of his currently assigned ship running drills and preparing training events for his Heavy Assault Group.

Fleet Signals Officer

On Day 347 of Year 12, Orikan was appointed by Rear Admiral Mayas Lennorian to the position of Fleet Signals Officer of the 5th Imperial Fleet, to assist Fleet and Group command with maintaining communication, information, and records keeping sources for the fleet.

Fleet Activity Adjutant

On Day 230 of Year 12, Zhaff Orikan was appointed by 5th Fleet Commanding Officer Rear Admiral Mayas Lennorian to the position of 5th Fleet Activity Adjutant. It is a position that he has taken great pride in, hosting special events and coordination's fleet-wide. One such event was the first ever formal ball for his fleet. Well attended, the event played host to the promotion ceremonies for several members of the fleet, including that of Zhaff Orikan himself.

Group Training Officer

Having unofficially assumed the role of training officer upon his assignment to his current fleet, it came as no surprise when on Day 293 of Year 12 Zhaff Orikan was appointed by his Group Command as Group Training Officer. Since that time he has coordinated one large, multi-phasic training exercise that turned out extremely well. He is also working on perfecting a training regiment for newly assigned members to the group that will be both fun and educational, with the goal of showing them the ins and outs of being in the Imperial Navy.

Goals for the Future

Zhaff Orikan has expressed several goals for the future, some larger than others. They are listed below:

Academy Tenure

Always being one to love the newest members of the Empire learn the ropes and become upstanding citizens, it was without hesitation that Zhaff applied for a position as a Junior Training Officer in the Academy the moment he saw a position open that he qualified for.

Imperial Security Bureau

As the newest member of the illustrious Bureau, ISB-2nd Lieutenant Orikan has been busy learning the in's and out's of his new job. So far he has started or assisted in several cases, however the specifics of such are, understandably, classified.

On the 95th day of Year 13, Zhaff Orikan was made Adjudicator by Prime Adjudicator ISB-LTCOL Yeriamman, as well as awarded his third Letter of Commendation.

Throughout his career in the Bureau, Zhaff has taken on the role of Sector Liaison for numerous sectors, including Kuat, Corellia, and Tapani, as well as assisting his Bureau brothers from other Sectors with matters that needed his special and unique attention.

Further, he recently took control of the Office of Surveillance, where he holds the position of Chief of Surveillance. Via that position he has been given the privledge of commanding a large group of dedicated Imperials who seek the betterment of the Empire via increased and continuous monitoring of everyone.

  • The Enlisted was a gift to himself as a reward for graduating from the Academy.

  • The Commission
  • The Commission was a gift to himself as a reward for becoming a Commissioned Officer. It's spacious interior is filled with some of his most prized possessions, locked down under security doors. Zhaff is rarely more than an hours flight from the ship, when he isn't currently piloting it.

• C-3 Passenger Liner
  • HMS Orikan
  • HMS Orikan was a gift from Director Vandron. It is currently used as Orikan's personal flagship, the base of all of his missions.

• Sprint-class Rescue Craft
  • Mercy
  • Mercy was a gift to himself for no particular reason. It is currently used as a personal runabout, and has been found to be the perfect hunting craft. It is outfitted with a fully functional medical bay, equipped with medicine and healing technology to heal any wound

• Firespray-class Interceptor

  • ... is scheduled to replace Mercy at an armed runabout. It is expected that Mercy will remain in the fleet as a personal medical transport, however it's use will diminish.

  • The Green Falcon
  • ... is currently being transported to an undisclosed location. It will be added to Orikan's personal fleet in the coming weeks, and be used for entertaining guests when remaining on the HMS Orikan is impractical or impossible. It's rumored that the interior is being retrofitted to include the same high-end luxury as the HMS Orikan, however this cannot be confirmed.

  • Orikan's Mobile Medical Clinic(1-7) will be demployed into potentially hostile territory as a one-stop shop for those Imperials that meet the business end of a blaster and need immediate medical care for a fair price. They are currently purchased, as is their stock, and they are currently being retrofitted to be placed into service.

  • The Flash
  • The Flash is a nice little ship that Orikan uses when he needs to get from point A in the galaxy to point B in a nice, timely fashion. Valuing both hyperspeed and sublight speed, Orikan decided that the hefty investment in this little beauty was well worth the money.

• Quasar Fire-class Bulk Cruiser
  • Unholy Demon
  • The Unholy Demon has been transformed from a standard bulk cruiser into a state-of-the-art, luxurious flagship. To be commissioned Y13 D238, the Unholy Demon will replace the HMS Orikan as the flagship and carrier for the Orikan fleet. It is reported the work crews from across the Galaxy have been working 24 hour shifts for the past month, quickly finishing the final modifications to the ship prior to Orikans arrival for the commissioning ceremony. Because of the Unholy Demon's ability to descend to the surface of a planet, it's expected that this ship will also be utilized as Orikan's new hunting vessel.

Weaponry

While the weaponry Orikan uses while on duty is strictly classified, he takes pride in his personal arsenal. Amassing a large quantity(well over 400) various weapons, his standard weapons for use are a custom Bowcaster named Justice for his primary long arm, and a custom DL-56 named Liberty for his sidearm. He also tends to carry various melee weapons, using them to maintain a certain amount of variety in his life. He has always been keen on blades.

Armor and Clothing

Orikan's typical attire consists of his ISB uniform, and custom made(for the perfect fit) Imperial cap and trousers. When in need of a bit more protection, he relegates himself to the safe confines of a his Corellian Powersuit The Protector.

His clothing and/or armor while partaking in operations is strictly classified.

Personal Stations

• • The Bureau
  • The Bureau is his home-away-from-home. Consisting of lavish furnishings and a staff of excellent Corellians to meet his every need, The Bureau is where Orikan tends to go when in need of a relaxing weekend, when duty allows.

Hired Help

It is rumored that Orikan maintains a personal militia, armed with the latest weaponry. While official numbers are unknown, a reasonably accurate guess as to the number employed is over 300, a number that surpasses several government military organizations in shear number.

Aside from his war-making troops, Orikan maintains a staff of dedicated personal assistance in various fields, from butlers to chefs. Growing up on the streets of Corellia made him truly appreciate the finer things in life. While he certainly enjoys getting down and dirty in his work, often in his off-time he can be found cruising around in his yacht drinking expensive Corellian Whiskey and smoking aged cigars, the later of which are in short supply due to their origins being now subject to various trade embargo's.
