Walter Watts is an aging Thyferren with a background in education, business and law enforcement. Prior to service, Walter's expertise were employed with relative anonymity on Thyferra in the capitol, Xozhixi, where he led a major company in a system-wide piracy protection service and business strategy relating to the same. With experience in orbital defense, and strong educational background focusing on business and industry, Walter fit a niche in the corporate world that left him a highly desirable employee. Although escaping the attention of the Galactic Empire, or even the New Republic for that matter, for the better part of his life, Walter was conscripted at the ripe age of 46 to participate in the Imperial Academy and consequently work for Kuat Systems Engineering.

Character History
Youth
Born and raised in a human district of the Thyferran capitol, Xozhixi, Walter struggled to engage with his peers as a youngster. An unnaturally high intelligence and aptitude for problem solving, as well as a tendency for confrontation, Walter found it difficult to associate with his age group and later, his peers. Many of his days were spent dreaming about being a space pilot for the Galactic Republic. Compounding the issue, Walter's family were particularly wealthy citizens with significant holdings in the Alazhi industry that Thyferra is renown for.
The reputation that followed a rich family brought with it a string of near-death encounters for the Watts family. At 8 years old Walter was involved in a high-speed airspeeder collision high above the Capitol, where the occupants of the offending speeder were never recovered with their wreckage, and the Watts matriarch, Walter's Mother, suffering a severe and debilitating brain injury. Despite the best medical treatment, Lauren Watts never awoke from the protective stasis she was placed in and died early in Year -21. At the funeral of Lauren Watts, the remaining Watts family was spared the fate of several of their close friends and family when a hidden detonator obliterated most attendees of the service. William Watts often said that it was Walter who saved their lives that day, on account of a severe panic attack just moments before the detonation.
William Watts knew there was a target on his family's back. Concerned for the safety of himself and his children, William removed the family from the public eye, settling in a remote area of Thyferra, deep in to

Insurrection
Rebels attack key infrastructure currently being utilized for the Galactic Republic, diminishing their interest in the planet and leaving it susceptible to Rebel occupation.
Rebellion Occupation
Fears of Rebel occupation were realized when the Thyferran Council of Elders reliquished command of local Military Forces to the cause of the Rebel Alliance. Walter led a significant faction that opposed the means by which the Rebls assumed command and sought to undermine them at their attempts to seize control of the critical infrasture of Thyferra.
The New Order
With the co=operation of a rebel force led by Walter and serveral other figureheads of Thyferra, an Imperial attempt to seize control of Thyferra was made successful.
Inheritance
Terrorist rebellion attacks on key strongholds continued after the New Order assumed command of the Thyferran government's military forces.
Conscription
After a long and decorated Military and Industry-based career on the planet Thyferra, Walter was approached by an unusual pair of Imperials holding lawful instructions to apply to join the Galactic Empire's frontline forces, namely in the area of Industry. With Walter's conscription, sources of Bacta and Alazhi on Thyferra could be garunteed, but the nature of the conscription often led Walter to wonder about the forces behind the move to conscript him.
Imperial Service
Academy and Initial Duties
Under the direct tutelage of Assistant Dean Aspharr Montari, Walter thrived through Imperial Basic Training. His period of training was brief, and he graduated with honors. Although specifically requested (and eligible) to undertake duties as an Ensign with the Imperial Navy, Walter's was bound by his conscription to work with the Ministry of Industry.
Walter's initial duties with the Ministry began at Kuat Systems Engineering, led by Executive Director Saedrial Elensar. Adjustment to Imperial protocol and way of life was hard. The hours were long, and the work hard.
Expanding Duties
As leadership changed hands, and Kuat Systems Engineering continued to spend time in the limelight after repeated infiltration attempts by enemies of the Empire. Diligent work by Walter and his colleagues prevented the attempts from bearing anything but rotten fruit by the assailants.
Chief
On Y15 D149, Walter was appointed as Kuat Systems Engineering's Chief of Operations and interim Chief Executive Officer until such time as a new leader of the corporation is announced.
Stranded in deep space
On D363 of Y15, contact with Chief of Operations, Master Engineer Walter Watts was lost whilst in hyperspace. Master Engineer Watts was commanding a Lucrehulk 3210 Battleship en route to the Mawan system when a non-responsive distress signal was received by Hub Manager Sigmund von Ismay. The signal was lost for nearly two weeks whilst search crews undertook an extensive search operation for Walter and his crew.
On Y16 D22 the Lucrehulk was located with no signs of life, and once access to the ship had been gained it was confirmed that all but two of the crew had perished due to a systems failure in the life support and escape pod mechanisms. Extensive analysis of the ship's database revealed that Walter had escaped the vessel on an escape pod, but that the escape pod had exited on an unknown vector some days prior to the Lucrehulk exiting Hyperspace itself. The location of the other remaining crewman was never established, and an extensive report prepared for the Internal Security Buruau regarding his activities leading up to the catastrophic systems failure of the vessel. The death toll for the vessel was 786.
On Y16 D28 a distress call was received from the escape pod utilized by Master Engineer Watts. 8 hours later an open line of communication between Walter and the local area command was established. An operation is underway to locate Walter, it is expected to conclude some time prior to Y16 D180.

Character Description
Appearance
Walter is a deceptively powerful man. He is as he appears to be, a man in his mid to late forties, however years of rigorous training with the insectoid Vratix and exposure to the alazhi farms of Thyferra. He stands at just over 195cm tall and weighs in at 102kg. The mandatory skinfold tests put his body fat to muscle percentage as low as 4 to 5%. Walter competed physically with other recruits of his age and is atheleticaly competitive in the cardio endurance tests.
Walter shaves his head daily and carefully maintains a Van Dyke goatee, which is still a light orange-brown. He wears spectacles which double as a soft-HUD to assist in day to day activities.
