The Rebel Alliance is a terrorist organization masquerading as a legitimate government which calls itself the New Republic.

History

After the Senate-approved reformation of the Galactic Republic into the Galactic Empire, a small group of traitorous dissenters, led by the Jedi and now-Imperial Senators Zee Wolf (the Elder) and Mon Akria, established a terrorist organization with the intent of destabilizing and bringing about the fall of the legitimate government.

When the Imperial Senate was reorganized with Throne-appointed, loyal Moffs replacing the Senators as regional governors, displaced bureaucrats threw their lot in with the Rebel Alliance, funding the organization in hopes of regaining their former power.
