Connor Laski (Born Year -8 Day 83) is a Second Lieutenant currently serving in the Imperial Army.

Early Years

Connor Laski was born in Year -6, Day 87 on Sargorn in the Hapes Cluster. He is son to Wilfred and Delilah Laski, brother to Dromorious Laski. Sargorn was a rather remote and rural planet, the Laski family ran a farm in the middle of nowhere. Connor’s childhood was less than dazzling. His father, an avid alcoholic and a very masculine man, pressured him to work hard on the farm and to be a man’s man. Because of this he missed out on much of a solid education. Delilah was rather powerless in the family, forced to stay in a ‘woman’s role’ she was often beat by Connor’s father who had little remorse.

However the household was shocked to the core when Connor turned fourteen. Dromorious, fed up with his father’s abusive antics, packed all of his things and promptly left the farm for horizons unknown. He did not keep in contact with the family. It seemed Connor’s one friend…his one brother…the only person that he could turn to was gone now. He felt alone, abandoned and not up to par. Eventually one day when running errands in the local village Connor spotted an Imperial recruitment poster, this made him think. He began to hatch a plan – a thought – perhaps there really is something more in store for him than a life on Sargorn.

During the next few months since his encounter with a possible life in the Imperial Army, Connor started to self-study Imperial law and read up about many things about the Galactic Empire. He also, when his father was in one of his drunk stupors, trained physically – not that he needed much training, manual work on the farm had given the young Hapan a strong athletic dominance in his biology.

Physical Description

Connor stands taller than the average humanoid, at around 6ft and often finds himself looking down at those he surrounds himself with. Weighing 154 lbs (70kg) of solid muscle, accompanied with his height Connor is a fit and healthy young Hapan that can accomplish most physical activities that the man may encounter. One would say that he is in his prime. Going into detail about his most finest features, Connor's eyes are a rich brown and of average proportion along with his nose and mouth. Above these he carries a full head of thick brown hair, sometimes spiked up with a hair product or worn flat with not much attention put into style. Scruffy if you will with Connor preferring the latter. Noticeable muscle definition can be seen all over Laski's body - although not immensely big, Connor is larger than the average male and something he is proud of accomplishing through tireless hours working on his fathers farm to exercises he completes in his free time.

Personality

Connor understands both discipline and authority from his life back on his father’s farm. Although suppressed by his father, Laski learned to respect him and not receive punishment than defy him and receive the brutal spite of his wrath. He has took such skills into the Imperial Empire, and respects each rank individually for what they represent. He may not respect the person but he respects the rank they represent and have achieved.

With this comes the upkeep of honour and loyalty and you would find no less of it within Laski. Throwing himself harshly into anything he does, he is a dedicated man and will stick with something before it is futile to continue. Very hard-working, Laski expects sometimes too much of himself and becomes frustrated when he does not achieve.

He has a great understanding of Imperial Law and that without question it should be followed – companied with this is a sense of duty to enforce that law on whomever requires it.

Along with all of this comes a prominent shyness in Laski’s behaviour, not being very outspoken like others he has a very quiet voice when talking to most people. However he will not let this stand in his way of Imperial Duty and can say “Yes Sir!” as loud as any other.

Robert Decca

Whilst Laski was attending the Academy, he had met Imperial Army Captain, Robert Decca during an evening studying in the Imperial Archives Library. Connor was shy at first and treated Decca like he would treat any other officer, with respect, a formal tone and no funny business whatsoever. But it wasn’t long before Captain Decca had relaxed the situation and spoke about his time in the Academy – leading Laski to discover more about this Imperial Captain.

It wasn’t long before Captain Decca, an acquaintance turned into Robert Decca – boyfriend. Both men shared similar thoughts on Imperial duty. This especially captured Laski, and he found himself relating to his new boyfriend on many levels and realised they were similar in many ways in terms of goals and what they were doing within the Empire.

The essence of Decca is what made Laski fall in love with him. The drive the man had, the determination to uphold duty, law and order was incredible. Laski loved how Decca would talk to him about following orders, and doing more than was expected of him.

However on Year 15 Day 132 news reached Laski that Decca had been taken into ISB custody and was expected to be handed over to Imperial Department of Psychological Studies and Evaluations after a series of breakdowns in the recent months. It was made clear to Laski that Decca would be discharged from Imperial Service – something that Laski thought would never happen.

Laski has broken away from Decca, terminating communications with him whilst he is in custody. Laski didn't seem the typical broken heart, and if he was he certainly didn't let it show. Laski knew he had a job to do and what happened with Decca would be good for his health. Decca knew that Laski held his Imeprial Service in high regard, and that duty always came first - no matter what happened Laski was always going to abide by Imperial protocol and respect the Empire's decision in trying to amend Decca's health, even if it meant a break between the two men.

Imperial Service

Time of Service: Year 15 Day 115 - present

Imperial Academy

Connor arrived at the Imperial Academy on Day 115 of the Year 15.

Many previous events has led up to Connor deciding to join the Galactic Empire - but one that was most prominent was the family dynamics back home on Sargorn. This being that they were very weak relationships binding the Laski family together and arguments were common within the household, especially between Connor and his drunk of a father.

Connor perceives the Galactic Empire as his new family, though not yet fully integrated the young Hapan looks forward to making friendships with his fellow Imperials.

After settling into his temporary accommodation at the Academy, Connor met with his Training Officer, Commander Luke Winslow. A man not that much older than himself, but with twice the experience. Laski was determined to show Winslow his dedication to his studies and that above anything he wanted to be successful in his IBT. (Imperial Basic Training.)

Getting accustomed to his new life in the Academy, Connor remained determined to enlist into the Imperial Army – scheduling his day around his independent studies. He had read so much before coming to the Academy, but there was always information to feed off in preparation for his exams. Laski enjoyed student life, even more so experiencing it with fellow recruits just as determined as he was. He made a habit of joining in on group study sessions - taking advantage of the shared knowledge. Laski was feeling positive and absorbing any information he could.

Laski pushed his body through the black airtight body glove that clung to his body tightly, insistent on enclosing around his body until its function was complete. Finally it allowed Laski to breath, somewhat more restricted than normal however. He looked at himself in body mirror and smiled, it appearance did look rather amusing. A black figure, reminding Laski of a shadow.

With a silent concentration, Laski sat down on the central bench that ran through the barracks locker-room. He started the tricky process of assembling all eighteen pieces of armour onto his body, replacing the colour of the black fabric for hard white plastoid. It was heavier than he thought it would be, this was realised when Laski stood up – with his helmet in his hands. He picked his feet up a little, testing the range of movement he had. What followed next was what can only be described as a jiggle – a test that Laski did to see if the plates of armour were properly attached. They were.

With a sigh of anticipation, Laski pushes the helmet over his head and activates the suits power cells. In no time at all the suit was active and Laski could see through his visor. Testing his comlink, then his breathing apparatus, Laski finally looked at himself in the mirror. It was at that time Laski had become something he wanted to become. He knew what was under the armour, and he knew he had to hold onto that – but at the same time he was someone who was recognisable, someone who people looked at and knew what you were doing in the armour and that it was important.

Laski moved over to the weapons rack and collected his already assigned rifle and pistol, holstering them tight into his belt. He looked back to check if he forgot anything before heading out.

"It was a serial moment, and one I'll never forget. I don't see Stormtroopers as someone else now, I see myself as a Stormtrooper. With that comes a responsibility, I'm the face of something and I need to make sure that face is shown in the best possible way.
