The son of a Catherine Orikan, a small business owner, and Lord Benjamin Orikan, a Dark Lord in the Sith Order, Zhaff's upbringing could be described as many things, but dull certainly wasn't one of them. The early ears had one overshadowing memory that has stuck with him to this day. The memory goes as follows:
Zhaff and Lord Benjamin Orikan, sitting in the family living room. Zhaff's Mother had gone into the shop to arrange for a small staffing change, and Lord Benjamin Orikan decided the time was right to give his son a test to determine his sensitivity to the Force. It wasn't the first, but Lord Benjamin Orikan had decided it would be the last. As the two meditated together, the Force probed the young 4 year olds mind searching for some kind of reaction. After well over five hours of this intense meditation, Lord Benjamin Orikan's eyes popped open, and he began glaring at his son. "Our family has a long, pure genetic line of fine Sith Lords, Zhaff. Since that point in time, Zhaff has taken the message that he is always to be a disappointment to his father. Through his career with the Empire, he has had the privilege to meet some of most powerful Dark Lords, and tested by some of the greatest, but alas his fate has remained nothing but disappointment in his fathers eyes. Zhaff maintains hope that one day, perhaps, he can look up into the heavens and feel his fathers proud gaze.
At the age of 17, Zhaff got word while in school that his mother and father had been in a serious speeder crash while traversing the dense city that is Corellia's capital. After several days of emergent medical care, they both passed from this existence nearly simultaneously. The investigation into the crash, which resulted in another Corellian resident being arrested for piloting under the influence, was the first interaction with the group that would serve as his long-term employers. The Imperial Security Bureau.
Junior Enlisted Time
Zhaff quickly enlisted in the Galactic Empire, and entered the Academy a newly made orphan at the age of 21. He breezed through the academy, but like his previous schooling didn't excel, just did okay. The epitome of 'slightly above average'.
On Y11 D246 Zhaff Orikan graduated from the Academy, and was assigned to the Fourth Imperial Fleet under then Captain Arya Downing who served as Fleet Commanding officer, with Lieutenant Commander Galdarzz Aalon working as Fleet Executive Officer. Senior Enlisted Time
After a short Leave of Absence, Zhaff found himself in a new fleet with a batch of fresh out of the Academy Junior Enlisted members. He quickly took them under his wing, much as the Senior Enlisted in his first fleet did to him.
In one short month he saw each one of them promoted.
Commissioned Officer Time
As a recently commissioned officer, Orikan's first task was assisting across branches an Army Command Sergeant with an issue involving his pay. It was quickly dealt with, being a mistake in the E-6's accounting, not in the Empire.
As a gift to himself for receiving his commission as Ensign, Zhaff Orikan purchased for himself on Day 245 of Year 12 a Personal Luxury Yacht 3000 which he named, temporarily, Orikan's Other Revenge. Fleet Signals Officer
On Day 347 of Year 12, Orikan was appointed by Rear Admiral Mayas Lennorian to the position of Fleet Signals Officer of the 5th Imperial Fleet, to assist Fleet and Group command with maintaining communication, information, and records keeping sources for the fleet.
Fleet Activity Adjutant
On Day 230 of Year 12, Zhaff Orikan was appointed by 5th Fleet Commanding Officer Rear Admiral Mayas Lennorian to the position of 5th Fleet Activity Adjutant. It is a position that he has taken great pride in, hosting special events and coordination's fleet-wide. One such event was the first ever formal ball for his fleet. Well attended, the event played host to the promotion ceremonies for several members of the fleet, including that of Zhaff Orikan himself.
Group Training Officer
Having unofficially assumed the role of training officer upon his assignment to his current fleet, it came as no surprise when on Day 293 of Year 12 Zhaff Orikan was appointed by his Group Command as Group Training Officer. Since that time he has coordinated one large, multi-phasic training exercise that turned out extremely well. He is also working on perfecting a training regiment for newly assigned members to the group that will be both fun and educational, with the goal of showing them the ins and outs of being in the Imperial Navy.
Academy Tenure
Always being one to love the newest members of the Empire learn the ropes and become upstanding citizens, it was without hesitation that Zhaff applied for a position as a Junior Training Officer in the Academy the moment he saw a position open that he qualified for. After a long tenure with the Academy, and ataining the rank of Senior Training Officer, Orikan retired from the Academy to put more of his time into his other various positions. He takes pride in the fact that a number of current Academy instructors are former students of his.

[14:53] * &DIR_Bianchi returns the salute and sets a datapad on the lectern in front of him, which he taps several times, as the seal of the Imperial Security Bureau appears from the holoprojector.
[14:54] <&DIR_Bianchi> Since he joined the Bureau, 2LT Orikan has worked extremely diligently to learn his new position, and has taken on additional responsibility of his own volition. I'm pleased to say he has performed above and beyond my expectations in such a short time.

On the 95th day of Year 13, Zhaff Orikan was made Adjudicator by Prime Adjudicator ISB-LTCOL Yeriamman, as well as awarded his third Letter of Commendation.
Throughout his career in the Bureau, Zhaff has taken on the role of Sector Liaison for numerous sectors, including Kuat, Corellia, and Tapani, as well as assisting his Bureau brothers from other Sectors with matters that needed his special and unique attention.
In early Y13, Zhaff relaunched the Office of Surveillance. Charged with covert monitoring for threats, the office played an important role in several large counter-intelligence operations, as well as gathering intelligence vital to the success of several well publicized enforcement operations. The Office was handed over to Draelor Nah`utal briefly before his transfer. It was then reassumed by then Deputy Director Zhaff Orikan until such time as Aspharr Montari was able to take the Office over.
Zhaff transferred in Y16 from the ISB after over four years of dedicated service.
Imperial Army
After several long years of service to the Imperial Security Bureau, Zhaff was offered the position of Army Executive Officer, an offer he accepted graciously. As Army Executive Officer, Zhaff is in a crucial position to further the Army and take it into new directions. His appointment was marked with elevated morale throughout all of the legions and brigades.

Personal Ships
The following ships are part of Zhaff Orikan's personal fleet, and are ever changing.

- Ex Tenebris
- Acting as personal flagship for Zhaff, the Ardent's speed, armament, capacity, and sensors all play an intregal role in ensuring his safe travels. As with his past flagships, Zhaff sent the Ex Tenebris out immediately to be refitted with several key pieces of equipment, as well as luxury living areas for himself, his assistant, and his senior personal staff.

- Dolor
- Dolor acts as a mobile hospital when needed. While it is largely replaced by the Ex Tenebris, Zhaff maintains the Dolor in working order should an urgent need arise.

- The Flash
- The Flash is a nice little ship that Orikan uses when he needs to get from point A in the galaxy to point B in a nice, timely fashion. Valuing both hyperspeed and sublight speed, Orikan decided that the hefty investment in this little beauty was well worth the money.
Weaponry
While the weaponry Orikan uses while on duty is strictly classified, he takes pride in his personal arsenal. Amassing a large quantity(well over 400) various weapons, his standard weapons for use are a custom Bowcaster named Justice for his primary long arm, and a custom DL-56 named Liberty for his sidearm. He also tends to carry various melee weapons, using them to maintain a certain amount of variety in his life. He has always been keen on blades.
His pride and joy is his lightsaber, which is always at his side and has become an extension of himself.
Armor and Clothing
Orikan's typical attire consists of a custom painted set of Imperial Royal Guardsman armor, with his Sith robes draped over. When in need of some additional protection, he has a heavy battle armor chestplate that he pried off of a criminal on the streets of a small Corellian town. His helmet, however, is his pride and joy. Named 'Revenge', it is a heavy battle helmet that he pulled off the deceased corpse of an attempted assassin after the assassin was skilfully apprehended, and summarily executed by Orikan himself.
Regardless of his attire he can almost always be found wearing his black Sith travel robes. These robes, differing from the more uniform robes used for ceremony, are little more than a cape and hood that clasp around his neck.

It is rumored that Orikan maintains a personal militia, armed with the latest weaponry. While official numbers are unknown, a reasonably accurate guess as to the number employed is over 300, a number that surpasses several government military organizations in shear number.
Aside from his war-making troops, Orikan maintains a staff of dedicated personal assistance in various fields, from butlers to chefs. Growing up on the streets of Corellia made him truly appreciate the finer things in life. While he certainly enjoys getting down and dirty in his work, often in his off-time he can be found cruising around in his yacht drinking expensive Corellian Whiskey and smoking aged cigars, the later of which are in short supply due to their origins being now subject to various trade embargo's.
Orikan's personal assistant, Madam Cynthia Romero, is an endentured servant of Orikan. Nearly always accompanying Orikan on his ventures throughout the galaxy, Madam Romero serves several different roles, including secretary, steward, chief of staff, body guard, as well as serving Orikan's more personal needs should it be required.
