The Sith Code, also known as Code of the Sith or The Tenets of the Sith, is the philosophical foundation of the Order of the Sith. Only fragments of the original Sith Code seem to have survived the aeons of history and the Dark Lords of the Sith protect well what is their innermost legacy.

The Code

Here is a small compilation of what is known of their creed:

There is no peace, there is anger.
There is no fear, there is power.
There is no death, there is immortality.
There is no weakness, there is the Dark Side.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.
Through passion, I gain strength.
Through strenght, I gain power.
Through power, I gain Victory.
Through victory, my chains are broken.
The Force shall free me.

I am the Heart of Darkness.
I know no fear, but rather I instill it in my enemies.
I am the destoyer of worlds.
I know the power of the Dark Side.

I am the fire of hate.
All the Universe bows before me.
I pledge myself to the Darkness.
For I have found true life, in the death of the light.

History

The Sith Code was created millennia ago by the founders of the original Sith Order. It survived through the many incarnations of the Sith, from the galaxy-spanning Sith Empire, through the secrecy of the Rule of Two, and into the modern Order. Preserved on the ancient Sith Holocrons for future Sith, it remains the foundation of the Order.

Analysis

The Sith Code is in direct opposition to the Code of the Jedi Order, and illustrates the direct philosophical differences between the two groups. The Sith are in tune with the ways of the galaxy, with the natural ebb and flow of nature and its cycle of life, death and destruction, and because they understand this, are true masters of the Force. The Jedi choose to deny their true nature and to ignore much of the Force itself, and thus can never truly be free.

Passion is what keeps all creatures alive. Stronger creatures feed on the weak, and thus keep the galaxy in balance. Because the Jedi deny the existence of their passions, and the Sith embrace them, it is the Sith who have true mastery over the universe. Victory is not merely winning - victory shows that you have superior power and ability. All other victory is meaningless. The stronger one becomes in the Force, the more power one can achieve, and the more complete one's freedom becomes.
