Ozan Corvus (born Year -3, day 121) is an Imperial Army soldier.

Early Life

Ozan Corvus was born to a conventional although unremarkable pacifist family in Chandrila. His parents were fervent peace advocates; his mother made a profiting career within the planetary parliament while his father operated a clinic where he performed surgeries and functioned as a professor at the Medical Academy of Hanna City. Both of his parents were casualties in a tragic bomb attack targeting an Imperial patrol in the city center. An orphaned Ozan was then left at the care of his closest family at the age of three: his uncle, Bek Corvus.

Bek was a retired Lieutenant and veteran of the Clone Wars, and as a member of the military, was regarded as a pariah by the members of the Corvus House. This was of little importance to Bek, as his time in the military had taught him to love the outland and show little to no regard to urban life. Bek had settled down on Bandomeer upon his discharge where he relished in a hermit lifestyle within the walls of his cabin, in a planet far away from his family. Upon hearing about the death of his younger brother and sister in law, Bek instantly regretted burning bridges with his immediate family and accepted fostering his nephew with no hesitation.

Life on Bandomeer

Bek introduced his nephew into the arts of history and psychology and introduced him to the practical fields of hunting and trapping and the study of wildlife to familiarize not only with his prey but also the ecosystem they shared.

Their life on Bandomeer, however, did not come with downsides: its location in the Outer Rim, coupled with reckless administration and lack of protection measures turned it into a haven for pirates and other sorts of scoundrels for a time, and though pirate encounters became fairly regular, this did not worsen the living conditions of the Corvus family other than spoiling a day’s hunt.

Bek’s age and lifestyle began to take its toll on the veteran who refused to take on the comforts of civilization and technology - other than his old shuttle and outdated military gear - such as medicine and developed a terminal illness that eventually claimed his life through the early days of Year 21. On his deathbed, he begged his nephew to make a life for himself after admitting that he had nothing more to teach Ozan due to his condition, to burn their homestead at his funeral, and take whatever had any monetary worth and sell it to travel through the Galaxy.

Ozan complied with his uncle’s request and cremated his uncle in that same cabin in which he had grown up and set off to Bandor, where he sold the run-down shuttle for a meager price and headed to the cantina, the sole sanctuary of freelance pilots throughout the planet.

Unfortunately, none of the pilots available met with neither his expectations nor his budget. Ozan, however, rejected the idea of settling down on Bandomeer’s only city. He stayed at the cantina to plan his following steps when he came across a recruitment officer for the Galactic Empire, and when the latter began talking about the exploits one could attain during service, Ozan could only reminisce about his uncle’s tales, and hoping to follow the old man’s footsteps, he did not hesitate to sign up.

oRmqZpu.png Appearance and Personality

Appearance

Ozan stands at 6’0 with black, short hair, and green eyes. His regard for his own body is significant and is manifested with a moderately athletic build.

Personality

Under the tutelage of his uncle, Ozan adopted the former’s realistic and cynical mindset. Despite his seemingly misanthropic behavior, Ozan does appreciate the company of those who had proven their courage. He has a knack for analyzing others’ behaviors, his enemies, in particular; a practice which he had developed during his time hunting on Bandomeer.

Although rarely attached to people, Ozan’s values his friendships with loyalty and respect. Respect for him is a key factor in the battlefield, which could very well be translated to a “never underestimate your opponent” philosophy.
