Mekum J. Campbell, is the only known remnant of The Project left in existence.

A tall man of about perhaps just over 6 feet. He does not appear to be outwardly strong but there is a less noticeable strength in the wiriness of his frame. His face is perhaps more intriguing than the clothes he wears. His dark brown, almost black hair seems overly long, as if overdue for a haircut. The grey flecks pick up the colour in his blue-grey eyes which betray distant memories unable to be forgotten. Beneath a layer of thick stubble, his left cheek bares a long, thin scar from a evidence of a strike by a long blade. The scar gives him a sardonic, cold, almost mocking expression, though it almost disappears entirely if he should laugh or smile. There is one last thing to note, a presence around him, an air of calm, secure confidence.

Beginings & The Project

"In time you may come back some say, to live once more, or die once more"
— From an unknown Mid-Rim song

On Year 5 Day 109, work began on replicating an exact clone of James Walters, who was inadvertently killed by the failure of Phase Two. Using Spaarti cloning cylinders allowed the process to be limited to a singular year but allowing enough time to complete genetic modifications upon the original MJ12-Lenneria DNA. Alexander Fel ordered that the clone be an improved upgrade of the original Walters and hoped that he would be able to clone a 'perfect' servant. The scientists at his secret Lenneria facility successfully managed to compress the memo groups within the DNA strand, eventually leaving two hundred instead of forty seven, compacted and filled with infinite genetic knowledge. By tampering with the original DNA in such a way, Fel's scientists were able to give 'Phase Four' superior strength, endurance and dexterity far beyond what a normal human being, whilst being subconsciously loyal to Fel. It is unknown whether or not Fel was successful in his attempt to 'clone' the Force, what few remaining scientific documents relating to The Project were destroyed after the failure of Phase Three.

Phase Four was activated fourteen months after creation on Year 6 Day 140 and inserted within the Galactic Empire, initially within the Imperial Army and later within COMPForce. Totally engineered by Alexander Fel, each movement, order and promotion came through him, who saw Imperial service as a testing ground for Phase Four. Some conspiracy theorists have claimed that The Project still continues through Campbell, though thus far this has never been proven or discounted.

Training

Campbell is the recipient of multi-disciplinary military training, imbeded into his subconscious mind in the later stages of his growth. From this training, Campbell is proficient in not only basic infantry skills, but in special operations, which includes the use and maintenance of specialized firearms and explosive ordnance. He is highly trained in infiltration into heavily-guarded enemy territories and structures for the purpose of assassination, captures, and military intelligence and is also trained in various forms of camouflage and stealth. He is skilled with a great many types of explosives, ranging from simple detonators to improvised explosives. His hand-to-hand combat skills are more then sufficient to allow him to incapacitate and kill men much stronger than he is, as well as to deal with groups of armed and unarmed enemies, killing them all without weapons if he deems it necessary. He is also extremely deadly in knife training, preferring the knife he learned to fight with in COMPForce. Additionally, he is a preternaturally-precise marksman and is thoroughly trained and experienced in unconventional (guerilla) warfare. He is an armourer, a gunsmith, and an expert in field medicine.

Quotes & Notable Dialogue

A hero is more than a person, a hero is a belief. A belief that, against impossible odds, the galaxy can be saved and that the galaxy is still worth saving. Heroes inspire that belief in us. They renew our faith and give us that most precious of all gifts - hope. The galaxy needs heroes. That's why, when a true hero arrives, the galaxy will honour him.

Mekum & Jace

Jace Wulf - Oh, no... it's just I thought you had hidden depths.
Mekum Campbell - No, no, you've always had that wrong about me. I really am this shallow.
Jace Wulf - You will end up childless and alone.
Mekum Campbell - Well, fingers crossed, yeah.

Mekum & Alex

Mekum Campbell - I thought you were going to say you'd filled her breech.
Alexander Fel - The horror.
Alexander Fel - Children... frighten me.
Mekum Campbell - You think that's bad? Imagine the mental picture I just gave myself of a mini-Fel running around.
Alexander Fel - Hell... By the time he's able to play the Combine, combat might be out.
