Kyrvaal Vicus is an officer in the Galactic Empire.

Early life

Kyrvaal Vicus was born in Hapes on Year 0, Day 102 to Tapar Vicus and an unknown mother. Tapar never revealed to Kyrvaal who his mother was, or any details on their life prior to Kyrvaal's birth. This would be a source of contention for the duration of their relationship.

Tapar was an independent freighter pilot, transporting goods and passengers across the galaxy. Kyrvaal thus spent his early years in space, where he developed a deep understanding of ship piloting and maintenence. The YT-1210 Kyrvaal called home contained a small but surprisingly comprehensive library, perhaps a remnant of Tapar's former life. Kyrvaal thus also became an avid reader, immersing himself in subjects he was not regularly exposed to in his spacefaring life.

Despite not being forthright with Kyrvaal regarding his past, Tapar took an active role in raising and educating the young Hapan, and became a strong father figure for Kyrvaal. In addition to tutoring his studies, Tapar would often spend many afternoons teaching Kyrvaal self-defence techniques and blaster handling.

Prior to joining the Academy

On Year 17, Day 281 the Vicus' YT-1210 was attacked by pirates while attempting to deliver basic supplies to a burgeoning colony in Hutt Space. Tapar Vicus died attempting to restore power to the freighter's shields, leaving Kyrvaal alone in the cockpit. Kyrvaal managed to perform a crash landing on the planet, where he was rescued by the colonists. Swearing he would combat all forms of criminal activity and injustice in the Galaxy, Kyrvaal bought passage to Prakith and joined the Imperial Academy.

The Imperial Academy

Kyrvaal threw himself into his studies upon arriving in Prakith, excelling in both theoretical and practical classes. His comprehensive upbringing and drive to learn thoroughly impressed his instructors, and he graduated from the Imperial Academy with honours on Year 18, Day 81. Following his graduation, Kyrvaal landed his dream position as he was assigned to the Navy.
