Karl von Roma was the Deputy Director of the Imperial Office of Criminal Investigations, still an independent branch at the time. He was involved in several investigations, including the case of the Commanding Officer of the Army, Chiss Veers, who was suspected of leaking intel on the Empire. Von Roma was a controversial figure who got into conflict with many prominent Imperials, including Banquo Knox and Seele. He resigned after the overthrow of Charon and left the Empire. He would later come into contact with the Sith Lord Thraken Solo, who discovered von Roma to be Force Sensitive and murdered him under orders of his master, Darth Knyte.
