Astaria Nott (/əsˈtɑɾiɑ nɒt/) is a young Kiffar that has rejected the tribal traditions of Kiffex upon leaving her homeworld behind, favoring the iron discipline of the Galactic Empire. Though the facial tattoo denounces her origins easily, she doesn't speak of her past and finds curiosity of it to be particularly offensive, resulting in a major lack of records save for key points considered relevant.

The Nott Clan is an unremarkable, small clan whose primary tradition is a rite of passage into adulthood that composes of hunting a wild creature with any weapon of their choice at the age of sixteen. Both the type of weapon and the type of creature chosen would tell much about the to-be member of the tribe, not only indicative of strength but also ability of tracking, hunting and the wisdom to respect one's own limitations. Astaria herself had chosen to hunt a bathwa using a bowcaster, shooting the creature down instead of using a lure. By her tribe's standards, she was considered strong, but unwise and reckless.
It's unclear as to when she decided to join the Galactic Empire, though she's left her homeworld in Year 21 D122, departing to Coruscant. Jobs taken were less than glamorous, ranging from serving drinks to security guard for small businesses, yet throughout the year, she'd emerge barely recognizable from her old self, with a change to clothes she found to be refined and training her own posture, manners and etiquette to match her future goals, suppressing the huntress she used to be. Applying to officially join the Imperial Academy happened in Year 23 Day 35.
