Planetary Features

Weather and climate

A temperate climate exists for a majority of the planetary surface. The horizontal orientated magnetic dipole produces subarctic climates on the east and west edges of the planet resulting in the formation of large mobile glaciers and forcing inhabitants to live in the central temperate zone. Much of the planet consists of a mix of swamps and jungles with a large ocean in the southern hemisphere. The weather remains humid through all seasons, partly as a result of the highly magnetized atmosphere and partly due to the dense jungle vegetation. Grey overcast skies and lightning strikes are very common and many citizens have adapted to these conditions through use of specially designed personal static dampeners and insulated homes and vehicles.

Native Species

Dromund Kaas is home to a great amount of native fauna. Plant life and creatures of all kinds can be seen through the jungle and swamp vegetation. Many high-value hunting species reside on Dromund Kaas making hunters a common sight on the planet. Hunters from all around the galaxy come to hunt Dromund Kaas' jurgorans, yozusks, gundarks, sleens, vine cats, swamp wampas, and mailocs. Some scientists attribute their highly aggressive nature to the magnetized atmosphere.
